TitleDepartment of Physics Notebooks: Cecil Powell's work on cosmic rays
Description46 notebooks containing rough data relating to experiments in cosmic rays, work on mesons, balloon flights, and the like, 1932-1933, 1939-1951. It is not possible to attribute each volume to a particular scientist, and this is not a complete set of result notebooks.

This material was found by Rosemary Fowler and Dr. JH Davies in the basement of the Physics Department in August 2000, and transferred to Special Collections. There has not been an opportunity to catalogue the material in great detail but it is hoped that this will make the material more accessible. There is, unfortunately, no time at the moment to marry all of the information together.

Please note that this material overlaps material which we have already received relating to Cecil Powell, in particular the notebooks containing data on experiments. Please see lists for DM517 and DM1137. These newly found notebooks should fill some of the gaps in the story.
