Feminist Archive South
Description
Archive relating to the Feminist Movement, in Bristol and the South West from the 1970s to c.2000. The archive concentrates on activities relating to the West Country, but has a wider perspective, covering the Feminist and Women's Movement in Britain. Of particular interest are materials relating to the Greenham Common Women of the 1980s who protested against the siting of nuclear warheads at the Greenham Airbase near Newbury, Berkshire. There is also materials relating to Dora Russell, and her Women's Peace Caravan across Eastern Europe in 1958.

-'Dora Russell and the Women's Caravan of Peace: a collection of original material at the Feminist Archive (Bristol)', 1995
Please note that Archive Boxes 52-56, Spare Rib Letters and Boston Women's Health Collective, have been catalogued in detail by Jayne Pucknell (with the aid of an external grant), in 2019. Please go to Series 9 for a detailed catalogued. Any questions do ask.
Please note that 'Spare Rib' is available on the open shelves in the Arts and Social Sciences Library at Serial HQ 1597.S63. No 5 (Nov 1972)-No. 120 (July 1982), No. 131 (June 1983)
