| Description | Volume contains minutes of the Bristol University College Club Sub-Committee meetings, 9 April 1883 - 27 January 1887. Minutes include resolution on the structuring and election process of the committee, arrangements for 'conversaziones', finance and accounts of the club as well as 'reports on the condition of the club' including number of members and funding from subscriptions.
Also included are arrangements for the annual dinners organised by the club, including invitation of special guests (such as John Lubbock in 1883), 'toast lists' which list subjects to be discussed and names of 'proposers' and 'responders', accounts for running of the dinners, as well as arrangements for the printing of reports on the annual dinners.
The Bristol University College Club's objective was to 'excite and keep alive' public interest as well as promote the importance of University College Bristol in Bristol and the surrounding area.
