Description | Contract and contract drawings relating to the purchase of ironwork for the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Agreement is between George Hillhouse, William Singer Jacques, and George Jones, Trustees for building a Bridge over the River Avon at Clifton, and Joseph Carne (1782-1858) and John Vivian of the Copper House Foundry at Hayle, Cornwall. Isambard Kingdom Brunel is named as the Chief Engineer. Deposited by BRB (Residuary) Limited in February 2008. |
