Description	Letter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel concerning the Devizes and Great Western Branch Railway, responding to a suggestion about the route of the line approaching Devizes: '...although the ascent from Snake Meads Mill may be somewhat easier effected...the difficulty arises from the height to be attained...this of course will be much the same from whatever side the Town is approached...'
