Title | Memorandum in Isambard Kingdom Brunel's hand, of a verbal report made to the Directors and a small meeting of the Principal Proprietors |
Description | The memorandum records that, after a full consideration of all the available options and conference with Brunel's friend R. Stephenson, Brunel has concluded that the only course of action is to increase the amount of power delivered by the hydraulic press. The memorandum records that Brunel has been able to source the necessary presses but had to give up the chains belonging to the Spanish government which have been loaned by Messers Brown & Lenox. Finally the memorandum records the estimated expenses relating to the delayed launch. A fair copy of the memorandum has been entered into Brunel's letter-books of Great Eastern correspondence as DM1306/11/1/5/folio 322-323. |
