Title
Draft of a letter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to James Booth
Description
James Booth worked for the Board of Trade. The letter refers to Booth's previous letter (dated 14 April 1856) which has been forwarded to Brunel. The letter apparently deals with the extension of the railway line to Neyland and alterations to various systems, possibly including a signalling system, level crossings or telegraphing. Some of the alterations may have followed advice given by or to Booth and Captain Taylor, although due to Brunel's writing, the letter's exact contents are somewhat hard to decipher. Brunel hopes that the alterations have been found to work. The draft has considerable crossings out and alterations.
