TitleLetter from J. Mold to Isambard Kingdom Brunel offering an invention for use on the Great Eastern
DescriptionWritten from 3 Little Shire Lane, Temple Bar, London. The letter comments that, now the Great Eastern's paddle wheels are now considerably under construction, Mold has taken the liberty of reminding the Directors of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company of his calculations and scale model showing the correct proportions for paddle wheels. Mold is sure that his ideas will provide for much more efficient paddle wheels and explains some of the advantages of his ideas and how easy it would be to incorporate Mold's alterations and improvements. The letter also remarks on the disinterested motives underlying Mold's experiments and his contact with the Eastern Steam Navigation Company.
