| Description | Written from 54, Minories. The letter sends Brunel copies of the prospectus for Ridsdales' Patent Steering Telegraph as well as copies of testimonials for its success and hopes that Brunel will consider purchasing the apparatus for the Great Eastern. The letter hopes that, having gone to considerable expense in supplying samples of scuttles while tendering for work on the ship, Ridsdales' will be allowed to tender for any additional work, including the lighting the ship, an area in which they have much experience, having worked for most of the major steam companies. The letter has been copied out as DM1306/11/1/5/folio 28-29 in Brunel's letter books of Great Eastern correspondence. |
