TitleLetter from George Milner to Isambard Kingdom Brunel offering an invention for use on the Great Eastern
DescriptionWritten on headed paper for George Milner, Patentee of Trellis Work, Bedstead Bottoms, India Rubber Spring Mattresses &c 64 Newman Street, Oxford Street. The letter explains that Milner, in his previous note to Brunel, failed to explain that his patent for a new method of organising ships' sleeping berths provides for a more luxurious version by combining a flexible band with the india rubber springs for only a small extra fee. The letter offers to meet Brunel to explain his method in more detail. The letter has been copied out as DM1306/11/1/5/folio 53 in Brunel's letter books of Great Eastern correspondence.
