TitleLetter from George Milner to Isambard Kingdom Brunel offering an invention for use on the Great Eastern
DescriptionWritten on headed paper for George Milner, Patentee of Trellis Work, Bedstead Bottoms, India Rubber Spring Mattresses &c 64 Newman Street, Oxford Street. The letter requests Brunel give Milner an opinion of his model for improvements in ships' sleeping berths and bedding. Milner wishes to know if the person superintending the fitting out of the Great Eastern will give Milner an opportunity to explain his invention. There is a pencil annotation across one corner of the reverse directing the shape of the reply. The letter has been copied out as DM1306/11/1/5/folio 73-74 in Brunel's volumes of Great Eastern correspondence.
