TitleLetter from Dr A. Normandy to Isambard Kingdom Brunel offering an invention for use on the Great Eastern
DescriptionWritten on headed paper from Normandy's Patent Marine Aerated Fresh Water Company Limited, Offices, 9 Lancaster Place, Strand, London. The letter requests an early appointment with Brunel so that Normandy can discuss his distilling apparatus with a view to its inclusion on the Great Eastern. The letter lists some existing customers, including a foreign navy, the Atrato and the Peninsular and Oriental company. The letter may have originally been accompanied by Normandy's pamphlet explaining his apparatus (DM1306/11/22/1). The letter was copied out as DM1306/11/1/5/folio 84-85 in Brunel's letter books of Great Eastern correspondence.
