Description | Written from 14 Wigmore Street, London. The letter estimates that Crace's design for the fitting up of the cabin of the Great Eastern with details of the mouldings and full sized sections should be ready by the following Friday. Crace explains that he thinks it must be useless to send the mouldings without details of the arrangement of the panelling and how difficult it is to arrange the rooms harmoniously and in good proportions. A postscript gives what appears to be an estimate of the weight of the furniture and fittings and hopes to have an answer from Brunel soon. This letter may have been copied out in Brunel's letter books of Great Eastern correspondence as DM1306/11/1/5/folio 30. |
