DescriptionThe message informs Brunel that Mr McLean of the Lancefield Forge has telegraphed to Mr Dickson explaining the conditions for shipping the strap for the Great Eastern on the steamer the Metropolitan. The message also confirms that Leslie will stay in Glasgow until the next day. The reverse of the message has two pencil sketches of chairs; one showing the full chair, the other, oriented at right angles to the first, showing only the seat and chair back.
