The letter explains what the directors of the Thames Iron Works undertake to do if given the contract for the forging of the crank shaft and hopes that by introducing these stipulations the work will run smoothly. The letter may have been copied out in Brunel's letter books of Great Eastern correspondence as DM1306/11/1/5/folio 57-58. |
