DescriptionWritten on headed paper from the Thames Iron Works and Ship Building Company Limited, Orchard Yard, Blackwall, London. The letter answers Kittoe's letter and gives the prices that the Thames Iron Works would charge for forging a crank shaft of the size requested by Kittoe. The letter promises that, if given the order for the crank shaft, the entire strength of the Thames Iron Works would be put into forging the shaft as quickly as possible. The letter also gives the estimated time until the shaft could be completed. The letter may have been copied out into Brunel's letter books of Great Eastern correspondence as DM1306/11/1/5/folio 55-56.
