| Description | Written on headed paper from The Great Northern Railway General Managers Officers, Kings Cross Station, London. The letter wonders if Brunel, now that the Great Eastern is afloat, can comment on the coal that will be used for the first voyage. Clarke sends Brunel some reports on coal and explains what arrangements can be made for delivery if Brunel choses to use that coal. There is an annotation in the upper left hand corner with Brunel's instructions. The letter may have been copied out into Brunel's letter books of Great Eastern correspondence as DM1306/11/1/5/folio 394-395. |
