Includes the following letters: 5 December 1857, William Hartley, 102 Georgina Street, Bury, Lancashire, Hartley writes to Isambard Kingdom Brunel asking for a job in the Engineering Department on the Great Eastern. 9 December 1857, Charles H. Jones, Iron Foundry Warehouse, 28 Mill-Hill, Leeds, Jones writes to Isambard Kingdom Brunel asking for a job as an Engineer on the Great Eastern.
