DescriptionWritten from 2 Queen Square Place, Westminster, London. The letter confirms receipt of Yates' letter requesting Fowler and McLean's assistance in arbitrating between Brunel as engineer and John Scott Russell as builder and sets out their intentions as regards the method of proceeding with the arbitration. The letter remarks that it is very likely that, after the ship is completed, there will still be some questions remaining to arbitrate. The letter expresses Fowler and McLean's hope that things will go smoothly because of the fair spirit shown by the various parties in the matter.
