TitleLetter from Symes Teesdale & Sandiland to Messers Montague, Leverson & Hawley
DescriptionWritten from 33 Fenchurch Street, London. The letter gives the results of Symes Teesdale & Sandiland's conversation with Henry Wollaston Blake about Montague, Levenson & Hawley's letter. The letter explains that none of the works mentioned in a memorandum written by Mr Dickson were included in the original contract with Watts & Co and remarks that these works were the subject of a meeting between Henry Wollaston Blake and the Board of Directors before Watt & Co's contract was executed when it was decided that they were not actually Watt & Co's responsibility. As a result Symes Teesdale & Sandiland hope that Montague Leverson & Hawley will pass these matters to the board to ensure that they are dealt with by the relevant party. The letter also that Watt & Co do not recognise the right of the company's engineer to give them notice to commence the work remaining under their contract and maintains that Watt & Co have proved their willingness to ensure that the work is done as quickly as possible.
