TitleLetter from J. H. Yates, secretary of the Great Ship Company, to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionWritten from 79 Lombard Street, London. The letter requests that Brunel observe the progress of the works at the Great Eastern but that he does not act as engineer in his usual way since the company does not currently recognise any contract with John Scott Russell. However, the letter allows Brunel to act in his usual manner as supervising engineer towards Watt & Co.
