| Title | Letter from William Jacomb to J. Bennett |
| Description | Written from 5 Montpelier Crescent, Brighton. The letter is sure that by this point Bennett will have heard of the sad accident on board the Great Eastern (an explosion in the boiler room which blew up one of the funnels and fatally injured several crew members). Jacomb promises to visit Duke Street the next day to give them all the details. The letter also expresses Jacomb's pleasure at hearing that Brunel is a little bit better. |
