| Title | Letter from W. Langdon of James Watt & Co to Isambard Kingdom Brunel |
| Description | Written from 18 London Street, City of London. The letter acknowledges receipt of Brunel's letter of the 26 August and explains that Mr Blake is absent but that Langdon will attend to the funnels and stuffing boxes, leaving Blake to discuss the flywheel with Brunel on his return. The letter also explains that Watt and Co had thought that John Scott Russell would finish off all the chimneys and funnels in the same way. The letter confirms that the stuffing boxes have been made by Mr Dickson and that Langdon has given orders for their immediate installation. |
