| Title | Letter from R. W. Jones to Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Statement of Coals raised in the Parish of Aberdare for the 3 months ending 31st December 1858 |
| Description | The letters sends Brunel the accompanying statement of the quantity of coal mined in the parish of Aberdare from October to December 1858 and gives Jones' opinion that the Aberdare Fan feet Coal is the best supplier and gives the name of the colliery and the suppliers. The letter also gives a price quotation from D. Williams for the price for which he would be willing to deliver coal to the Great Eastern. The accompanying statement of coals lists the name of the collier, the name of the colliery, the tonnage exported, the quantity used on the iron works and details the proportion of the coal exported to either Cardiff or Swansea and totals the quantity of coal exported and the decrease over the amount worked the previous quarter. |
