| Description | Written from 79 Lombard Street, London. The letter acknowledges, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Great Ship, receipt of Watt & Co's letter and confirms that the Directors will pay Watt & Co two thousand pounds in cash instead of shares as long as the screw engines have been tested and proved to work and as long as all the other additional work has been completed by the 12 August 1859. The Board also accepts Watt & Co's tender to apply the super-heating apparatus to one of the boilers under certain conditions, which Yates sets out in the letter. |
