| Description | Written from 79 Lombard Street, London. The letter regrets that Brunel was not able to attend a meeting of the board of Directors but confirms that his letter was read at the meeting and as a result one of the Directors will meet with John Scott Russell. Yates also sends Brunel a copy of a letter from Watt & Co which was also submitted to the board. Yates promises to send Brunel a letter but asks Brunel to hand the letter to Watt & Co after he is sure that the bits relevant to him are correct. A postscript explains that Yates has also not heard from John Scott Russell about the bulkhead of the the auxiliary screw engines and wonders if Russell understood that he needed to tender for the work. |
