TitleLetter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to Captain Harrison
DescriptionThe letter explains that it will be necessary, before having enough coal for a sea-going voyage delivered on board, for the Great Eastern to leave her moorings and move into deeper water, asks Harrison to consider how to get the ship to this new mooring and suggests the criteria for choosing the new mooring. The letter also comments on the need to leave the River Thames in order to get a good preliminary trial of the Great Eastern.
