TitleLetter from William Jacomb to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionWritten from the Great Eastern Steam Ship Engineer's Office. The letter passes on John Scott Russell's belief that he is responsible for sourcing the coal to try his boilers and engines. The letter also gives Brunel updates on several points relating to the construction including the doors from the tunnel into the ventilators and the stuffing boxes to the steam pipes. The letter also promises to send Brunel a list of works that he required and which are most important for Brunel to discuss with John Scott Russell and forwards to Brunel the letter from Robert Thomson of the Cunard Line to Captain Harrison discussing coal.
