TitleLetter from Michael Burke to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionWritten from 76 Gilbert Street, Liverpool. The letter accompanied a simple plan for adjusting the compasses of an iron ship without using the complicated, currently utilised methods and explains how Burke's plan might work. Burke also explains that he does not have the financial means to try out his plan himself so he is sending it to Brunel confident that, if Brunel decides it is a good plan and takes the plan forward, then will be compensated accordingly.
