TitleLetter from R. Brotherhood to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionWritten from the Railway Works, Chippenham, Wiltshire. The letter apologises at the delay in delivering the rails since Brotherhood had received specific assurances from the Blaenavon Iron Co that they would deliver the whole quantity of railway bars within a month and yet they have only invoiced 50 tons and rolled 100 tons out of the 400 ton total. The letter confirms that Brotherhood has sent someone to track down the quantity that has already been sent out to Brunel and questions the total figure that Brunel mentioned in his letter, which is different to the figure that Brotherhood has.
