| Description | Written from London. The letter explains that although the sleepers for the screw shaft are complete, other matters are not finished and requests that Brunel complete these matters. The letter also discusses the progress that Blake's firm have made on the engines and apologises that he was not aware that the manufacture of the boilers had been suspended but that he will ensure that the boilers are completed before the end of the month. The letter also requests Brunel's permission for Blake and his firm to start work on various parts for the chimney and answers Brunel's various queries about the construction of other parts of the boilers and queries the source of Brunel's information about the cylinders for the boilers. |
