TitleLetter from George Peacock to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionWritten from 5 Craven Hill Gardens, Hyde Park, London. Peacock requests Brunel's support for Peackock & Brown's application to the Directors of the Great Eastern Steam Company to supply their composition. Peacock explains that some of his customers, including the Cement Company at Liverpool, tried a rival firm's product and have now returned to Peacock's product. The letter lists some of Peacock & Brown's customers, including major shipping firms as well as international governments, and names the ships that their composition has been used on including the Atrato, the Persia, the Himalaya, the Simla and the Columbo. Peacock gives Brunel a quote for the price that he would charge the Eastern Steam Navigation Company.
