The letter apologises that Watt & Co are unable to proceed with the fixing and erection of part of the machinery for the Great Eastern because of the delays in the construction of the sleepers and other parts of the vessel and explains that certain parts of the engines have been waiting for several weeks. The letter requests Brunel give immediate orders for various parts of the ship to be completed to allow Watt & Co to finish their work. |
