| Title | Letter from W. B. Lewis to Isambard Kingdom Brunel |
| Description | Written from Dees Hotel, Birmingham. The letter reports that Mr Henderson has received Brunel's instructions and given orders to carry them out. The letter also gives details of the weight and construction of the presses, the relative ease with which they can be transported and the arrangements that have been made to transport the presses to London. The letter also comments on the lack of availability of pumps that would be of the right size for Brunel's purposes. There is a sketch on Folio 401 underneath the signature illustrating the presses with annotations of their dimensions. |
