TitlePrivate letter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to Captain Engledue of the Royal Navy and J. Laird
DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter explains that as soon as the ship is afloat, Brunel wishes to hire someone experienced in fitting up steam boats who would be able to direct the fitting-up of the ship and would be able to direct the preparation of drawings and specifications necessary to complete the work and to draw up the contracts or execute schedules of prices. The letter asks if either Engledue or Laird know of a suitable candidate that they could forward on to Brunel.
