| Title | Letter from Cuthbert Brodrick, architect of Leeds, to Isambard Kingdom Brunel |
| Description | Written from Woods Hotel, Furnivals Inn. The letter offers Brodrick's suggestions for assisting with the launch of the Great Leviathan ship. Brodrick's suggestion is that, once the hydraulic rams are at their greatest pressure, Brunel get a large number (several hundred) carpenters to strike together which Brodrick thinks will provide a sufficient shock to jerk the ship forward and compares it to the system used to lift ships into a dry dock. |
