| Title | Letter from I. M. Adam to Isambard Kingdom Brunel |
| Description | Written from 12 Earl Street, Everton, Liverpool. The letter offers Adam's suggestions for launching the Eastern Steam Navigation Company's ship which he does by means of several rough sketches and explains the key parts of his proposals. The accompanying sketch on Folio 344 seems to indicate that Adam's suggestion is to use six strong steam tugs to pull the ship down the launching ways using a system of strong chains wrapped around and up and down the ship. |
