TitleLetter from H. Penney to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionWritten from 2 New Bridge Street, Vauxhall, London. The letter offers Penney's suggestions as to how the Leviathan ship could be successfully launched. The letter suggests using wooden spars paced between the ship and the bank to build up the pressure and force the ship down the bank and offers suggestions as to how best to put the plan into action. The letter does acknowledge however, that these are Penney's suggestions based on his assumptions about the ship's position and status not from any practical knowledge and suggests how the idea came to him.
