TitleLetter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to J. Henderson
DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter informs Henderson that Brunel will be applying more power to his 'stubborn ship' and would be glad to acquire the large hydraulic press from Henderson. Brunel acknowledges that Henderson probably offered to lend Brunel the press but reiterates that Brunel does not wish to purchase the press and asks Henderson to set the loan in train and warn Brunel if he needs to do anything in the way of a formal application to anyone and send it up to Brunel by rail. Brunel also remarks that if it sent by rail, then he will be able to use his influence at the Great Western Railway to ensure its speedy transfer.
