TitleLetter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to the Directors of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company
DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter reminds the Directors of his previous letter relating to the preparations for the launch of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company's ship and his list of the potential things that could go wrong and informs the directors that it has become necessary, after moving the vessel about halfway down the launching ways, to increase the power, which will cause additional expense and delay but not too much additional expense since the necessary additional presses can be sourced nearby. Brunel describes his intended solutions to the problems faced in the launching and expresses his perplexity as to what is causing the problem with the launching.
