| Description | Written from Auction Mart Buildings, Foregate Street, Chester. The letter confirms that the Churtons have a record of a sale of a large hydraulic press to the Bank Quay Foundry Company of Warrington, who later exhibited them at the the Great Exhibition of 1851, while they also sold some presses to Mr James Martin of Leeds but that they do not know what became of those presses. A pencil annotation in the margin of Folio 306 clarifies the name and location of the second buyer of the hydraulic press. |
