DescriptionWritten from Bridge Works, Chepstow. The letter gives details of a steam engine which has since been disposed of by Messers Sharpe's but confirms that the hydraulic presses are in good working order. The letter confirms that Finch and Heath telegraphed Brunel to confirm the details and specifications of the hydraulic presses that they have and promise to furnish Brunel with any other details that he might need. The letter also has an annotated sketch of a steam engine that drives three pumps with marginal illustrations of details of its workings and annotations relating to its dimensions.
