| Title | Letter from G. B. Airy to Isambard Kingdom Brunel |
| Description | Written from the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, London. The letter thanks Brunel for his letter about the success of the partial launch of the Leviathan ship and Airy's certainty that Brunel had matters under control although Airy perhaps felt that Brunel used too little power and perhaps needed a firmer anchorage. The letter also gives the results of Airy's observations of the broken steam crab and a postscript expresses Airy's interests in what has happened to the iron skates and whether they have bedded themselves into the iron rails of the launching ways. |
