TitleLetter from John Chisman to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionWritten from 1 York Terrace, Camden Road, Holloway, North London. The letter expresses Chisman's sympathies at the failure of the launch of the Leviathan ship since he was sure that Brunel's preparations were sufficient for the launch and suggests Chisman's suggestions for solving the launching problems. Chisman's suggestion is that Brunel ready a large quantity of small vessels with anchors and chains that will attach to the ship and which could add 30 tons of pull to the ship. The letter requests acknowledgement of the receipt of his letter.
