TitleE.S.N. Company: Memorandum as to the preparation and making of the Barges
DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter describes the crews that will be necessary for each of the barges that are to be used to assist the launch of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company's ship, explains how the crews will be divided up and suggests ways of ensuring the management of each crew. The memorandum also lists the machinery and tools that will be necessary on each barge. Brunel acknowledges that the trial of the bow and stern barges may be difficult but it must be done so that difficulties can be overcome.
