TitleLetter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to Messers Watt & Co
DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. Brunel shares Watt & Co's desire not to let any animosity derail the steady progress of their work on the Eastern Steam Ship and hopes that Watt & Co will join Brunel in promoting harmonious working to ensure a successful and early completion of the work. Brunel considers that this harmony can only be achieved by a clear understanding between them on any points of disagreement and so asks Watt & Co to explain when they feel that Brunel failed to treat them with proper courtesy since nothing could have been further from his intention or regular habits and Brunel would wish to apologies for any instance of incivility. Brunel also disputes Watt & Co's assertion that he ever made changes to a plan already decided upon.
