TitleLetter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to the Secretary of the Admiralty
DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter explains that Brunel has been able, by sourcing from his various other contacts, to limit the amount of supplies that he needs to borrow from the Admiralty dockyards at Deptford to 600 fathoms of two inch chain cable, two pairs of large blocks and a supply of kentilege. Brunel also requests permission to use the capstans at the Deptford Dockyard if necessary and explains that he has tried as far as possible to borrow items from other sources.
