The letter reminds Brunel that Normandy's previous letter mentioned that his distilling apparatus had been installed on the Royal Mail Steam Navigation Company's ship Atrato which has just returned from the West Indies and Normandy encloses a copy of a letter from the superintending engineer of the company expressing his satisfaction with Normandy's fresh water distilling apparatus. Following the signature is a copy of a letter from Robert Ritchie to Dr A. Normandy written from Southampton dated 16 September 1857 expressing his complete satisfaction with the Fresh Water Distilling Apparatus on board the Atrato. |
