The letter regrets that Brunel was not able to attend the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company and reports on some of the resolutions passed at the meeting, including one instructing Brunel to travel to Newport to enquire after the progress of the rails for the launching ways and requesting that he present to the next Board meeting a report on the progress made on the ship, especially any potential delay to the launching of the ship. |
