The letter reminds Russell of Brunel's request for an estimate of the the weights of iron fixed in place and the weight of iron stored in the shipyard awaiting fixing. The letter also mentions how anxious Brunel is about the masts for the Eastern Steam Navigation Company's ship and asks Russell to prepare a final drawing to show Mr Ferguson. Brunel also asks after the progress of the experiments for heating steam.
